Overview
Weight shedding is a planned process of removing unnecessary components and structures, which helps to reduce the scope and complexity of decommissioning activities. With structural integrity of the platforms and pipelines now confirmed, they are now safe and compliant for dismantling & removal operations.
Ongoing support for the campaign is provided by WPF.
Technical details/scope
- Supply project management and engineering support
- Identify and mitigate any potential hazards associated with the removal of specific components.
- Ensure that removing components doesn’t compromise the structural integrity of the remaining structure.
- Remove redundant infrastructure to reduce the weight on the top-side of the asset to enable it to be lifted with a crane
- Provided services include but are not limited to; Riggers, Boilermakers, Rope Access
