Bambra-5H Subsea Mudline Suspension Well Assessment
2021-2022
Location: WA
Client: Quadrant Energy
Sector: Energy
Working in close collaboration with our client, Quadrant Energy, WPF designed, manufactured and tested a suite of subsea field abandonment tooling and equipment. This tooling facilitated the cleaning, pressure testing, and removal of Mechanical Locking Sleeve Temporary Abandonment( MLS TA) caps as part of a broader decommissioning and field abandonment campaign. Our engineering expertise, coupled with our advanced manufacturing capabilities, ensured the delivery of high-performance tools tailored to the unique challenges of subsea operations.
The sub-sea work scope was executed successfully by a team of divers using the WPF tools. This enabled the sub-sea team to safely depress poppet valve to test for any pressure in the existing well head.
Services provided:
- Early contractor involvement to cover constructability & ergonomics
- Multiple cleaning & attachment tools designed and fabricated in-house
- Field Support: Provided offshore support to assist with the deployment and use of the tools during the abandonment campaign Testing :Conducted thorough testing of the tools, including pressure testing and performance trials, to verify their functionality and reliability before deployment.
Tools and equipment designed and manufactured by WPF:
- Guide base / working platform to land out on 30” MLS conductor joint.
- Hydraulically operated stinger tool to latch onto 13-3/8” MLS TA Cap, depress poppet valve and measure pressure below the TA Cap.
- Various cleaning tools to remove organic growth from interfacing areas of the TA Cap.
- 20” casing tie-back tool for P&A operations.
